Perfume Pagoda Perfume Pagoda, a complex of pagodas and Buddhist shrines dedicated to the Goddess Quan Am (Avalokitesvara) is built in the limestone cliffs on the mountain of the Fragrant Traces (Huong Tich Son). Wellknown are Thien Tru (Heaven's kitchen). Giai Oan (Purgatorial pagoda) where deities purify souls, cure sufferings and give children to childless families, Huong Tich pagoda. A trip by boat fron the Outer Pagoda to the Inner Pagoda is particularly poetic. Pilgrims greet one another by saying: Na mo a zi da phat ( Greetings to Amitabbha Buddha). |
